Conference Description

The Linguistic Society of the Philippines (LSP) will hold its 2 nd LSP International Conference (LSPIC2020) on March 5-7, 2020, at Dakak Park and Beach Resort, Dapitan City.

 

LSP conferences provide venues for linguists, language researchers, scholars, practitioners, teachers, and students to share and discuss issues and themes pertinent to linguistics and language education. Presentations usually revolve around current research on Philippine languages, hyphenated fields in linguistics, and English language teaching in the Philippines and in the region.

With the theme "Strengthening Language and Linguistics Studies in the Philippines", the aim of this year’s conference is to serve as nexus of discussions on how to further build up research on language and linguistics in the country, highlighting its role in contemporary society and given the global currents that shape directions of research in various disciplines. Similar to LSPIC2019, LSPIC2020 calls for proposals for individual papers, colloquia, workshops, and posters that fall within the following research areas:
