The English language has become Asian in character and its Asianization calls for a (re)thinking, (re)evaluation, and (re)engineering of English language teaching and research practices. This call is further heightened by the development of more complex integral relations among Asian nations, especially now that economic and other forms of integration have commenced.
The 2016 LSP-NCGM, therefore, aims to be a potent venue or platform for:
(1) a critical discussion on English language as a language of Asia and the ASEAN economic community;
(2) a profound discourse on Asian-appropriate English language methodology and pedagogy; and
(3) disseminating findings of English Language Teaching (ELT) research that provide valuable insights which can fit into the design and implementation of English language education policies and programs in the Asian region.
